Modifications to Imported Cars

Can anyone help - do UK cars require much modification? We have a 2011 Chrysler Voyager and am told by an aussie friend we may need isofix putting in - anyone had much experience of this?

A 2011 Voyager not only has Isofix but is you look carefully on the backs of the captains seats you should find your tether mounts. Isofix is not legal or required here in Aus (I use my Britax Isofix seat) but the tethers ARE mandatory. I read that the odometer had to read in KMs and this was an easy conversion for my VW using a laptop and the right lead + software. I do believe you can reprogramme the CCN Cabin Compartment Node (Speedo) by changing the country code but that is a dealer only job requiring WiTech to do it.

 

You should be able to get your warranty transferred to Australia if you can get a letter written by your new boss as it will not be honoured otherwise by Chrysler Australia

Hiya not sure what you mean by new boss as we are on a pr visa? But thanks so much for the other pointers brilliant... Do u think oz or uk garage for the modification to km? Cheers again

You really need a convincing reason for Chrysler to honour the warranty in Australia - A job move cuts it - Emmigration doesn't! So if you had a job to come to here then a letter would swing it for you! Yes a UK dealer would be the way to go. If you took it to one of the three here - you'd probably get the response - TOO HARD! lol!
