Flat pack furniture

This may seem like a very strange question but have just lodged visa and thinking about taking things in a container. We were thinking of buying new bedroom furniture etc and keeping it the box and taking it with us. I know furniture is a little different to a car but they ask you to pay the tax on a car. Would they ask the same from the furniture. Told you it was a strange question.

Quite possibly. There are laws and regulations regarding import duty etc.
