Whens the right time to get removals estimates?

We are wanting to make the move this year and are already sorting things through and selling/throwing stuff out however there is a long way to go. What im interested in is getting advice regarding the size of container and therefore the cost. We have a 3 bed house however only 2 of us and we are only keeping 1 bed, general living and dining furniture however not the sofa's as although nice and ok condition, im tempted to get new ones in OZ. We do have a large number of plastic containers full circa 5000 records plus studio and computer stuff although this has also been thinned down.

Any suggestions to which co's would be recommended would also be great via pm please due to site rules.

Thanks for any help.

Just to clarify re recommendations, if you are asking for recommendations from others, people are able to reply on the open forum. They do not *have* to PM. So people may reply to you in this thread to let you know who they used and would recommend.

It's threads started by people to recommend or promote a service or business that we no longer allow.

From the forum rules

17. Recommendations - You may start a thread asking for members to recommend a service to you, however all threads started recommending a company/service may be deleted at the discretion of PIA Moderators.

Hope this clears it up for you :)

FWIW, we used a self pack MoveCube which arrives tomorrow. Well within the time frame given. Top notch service so far, very simple to arrange. They do 3 sizes and we got the largest.

Had we gone with a removal company Doree Bonner was edging it for us over John Mason, but as we decided to ship less, we saved on costs and did it ourselves. Just meant being more organised and ruthless.

Can't tell you anything about the costs 'cause I'm moving from Italy, so different routes and different prices, but about the capacity of the containers I think that a 20 feet like the one I'll fill tomorrow morning ( :jiggy: )has a good capacity.

We're shippig two sofas, two double beds, one table with six chairs, two cupboards, one bookcase, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, two large tv, two desks, three chests, two mountain bikes and there's still space for 80/100 boxes (50x50x40cm).
