Container arrived and nothing broken!!

Hi all,

 

we received our container this week and everything was exactly as we had packed it! Also it wasn't opened by customs at all.

 

best Xmas present ever!

We self packed and the only thing broken when we unpacked was a large baking dish. Somehow had cracked all the way across but then it was old and would probably have gone at some point.

 

How are you settling in?

That's a relief for you - you can't help but wonder where all your stuff is until it actually turns up again (even better when it's all in one piece).

 

You won't have to get your children anything for Christmas just wrap as you unpack and they'll be thrilled!

That's great news.

We had loads of stuff broken and stolen. All of it before it arrived here. You have enough stress when you get arrive without fighting with insurance companies who end up paying you 10% of the value.

Well our stuff was packed and taken almost 5 weeks ago and its still sat in Liverpool coz its in a shared container. Not impressed seeing as we were told we had just over half a container. Seemingly they meant a 1/4 of a 40' container and the remainder is still to be filled!

Great news Liz!! We received our container last week... Only had 2 broken picture frames... Not too bad at all!! Was very impressed

how exciting was it unpacking everything?!?! I was like 'ooh, it's my cup!!! Ooh, it's my cheese grater!!!'... It's the little things

Ah yes, groupage, the shared container thing they do ship in 40ft not the 20ft that people tend to think of (and which most fill when having sole use etc). It does catch people out.

 

So yes, the shared option can often take a fair bit longer as they need to fill 40ft and depending on how much people ship.

That's fab news! How long between your container arriving and delivery? Ours is due to dock on the 13th. Fingers crossed.

 

Tamara, that's awful, you had such an issue with damage and theft. Hope it all got sorted in the end.x
