We are moving to SA on a 475 visa at the beginning of May.

I have Bike, Car, HGV and PCV licences

I have found lots of information about keeping the car licence

but nothing about the other 3, do I lose them, keep them, or do I have to retake the tests ? if anyone could shed some light on this

I would be most greatfull.

Thanks for any info

G'day Neil.

Ive been all through this before as i was in the same boat as you apart from i was on a PR visa.

Motorcycle and car licences are just a straight transfer over.

PSV and HGV are not valid here so like me you will have to redue your test and its easy compared to the UK.

The HR licence or HGV covers you for all classes of HGV and PSV.

The MR licence only covers you for riged or Class 2.

You will also have to have a medical about $75 to $120 depending on which doctors you use.

If you wanna get back in to bus driving you have to have a police check $58.

You will also have to get accretation and cost depends on how long you got you licence for, i paid about $70 for three years.

Also to be a bus driver / Opperator here you will need to have a PR visa.

I work for Torrens Transit at Morphetville and the busses are a lot older than the ones in the uk, most are around 20yrs old.

I like the hours and the money here on the busses, on a normal week i take home anything between $650 - $750 but last week i work five 9hr and one 7hr straight shifts and took home just under $1200.

If you need any more info feel free to PM me ok.
