Shipping Personal Items

Apologies if this has been asked before.

Were looking to see what the estimated costs are and if anyone can recommend a company that ships a pallet from the UK to Adelaide. Were unsure of the size at the moment as were just trying to get some info.

We dont have lots of furniture (just sons nursery) its more personal belongings really that are too big or heavy to take on the plane.

Thanks :-)

We used Pickfords and we would use them again as there were no dramas and they were very efficient. We only shipped a few boxes over, all sentimental stuff really, but this was done while we were already living in Adelaide. They liaised with my parents in the UK and us via email in Adelaide and Pickfords bubble wrapped and packed everything and built frames for protection for some family portraits we had which were worth quite a bit and then organised delivery to our home at a time convenient for us. Pickfords probably weren't the cheapest quote but they did everything for us and make the transaction easy to manage considering we were not in the UK.

If you don't have much look at a Seven Seas Movecube. Good value for money IMHO. They come in 3 sizes and we used a large one and shipped about 30 boxes (tea chest size mostly) and a few items of furniture including our KS bed frame and mattress. Plus some bikes, golf clubs and a blanket box. It was here within the 12 week timeframe and delivered to our door and we unpacked a heck of a lot quicker than we packed it (and that had been pretty quick).

Lots of people are using them now as an alternative to a shared container. You pack yourselves and unpack the other end but if its not much or mostly boxes of personal effects this isn't a big deal IMHO.
