BBQ Sat 6th Feb Newbies welcome!!

Hi Everyone

 

Don't normally post a lot on here but read posts quite a bit.

We have been in SA for ONE WHOLE YEAR on Feb 4th!!

We can't believe just how quickly the year has gone!!

 

Really enjoying it still, there have been the usual lows and highs, ups and downs etc but generally we are still of the opinion that we have made the right decision and wished we had done it a few years earlier as we have had to leave our eldest son aged 22 behind in the UK altho he is managing OK.

 

When we got here we went onto PIA and went to a meet up at Moana beach about a week after we landed, where we met some really good friends. Friends become your family over here and we don't undestimate the importance of having friends when you have made such a huge move.

 

That is why we are having a 1 year birthday party BBQ this Saturday 6th Feb from 5pm to about 9pm. We would like to invite any newbies who have been here just a short while so that we can "Pay it Forward", and hopefully make life a bit easier for people like we were a year ago.. Obviously we will have to limit the amount of people we can have but I don't imagine there will be a rush! We live in Blackwood which is just on the edge of the Hills about 10 minutes from Marion Shopping Mall

Thanks for coming the other night, really glad you had a good time, so did we and I didnt get to bed til gone 1am as we were all chatting!!! Will think about maybe doing something again in a few mo ths time as I reckon it was pretty successful. It would be lovely to come to your housewarming so will keep my eyes open on here for the thread!! Chat soon

Been trying to get on PIA over last couple of days to say a big THANKS for the barbie on Saturday night.It was so useful to meet up with others and share the highs and lows,just a shame I didnt get around to meeting more people! Anyway many thanks and perhaps we will meet again in the near future!
