Soccer for 11 & 13 year olds??

Hi

 

Can anyone help and reassure our boys please? They both currently play for local teams (Hastings Utd U13's and U11's), and also their respective school teams. They are worried and would like to know about any footie (soccer!) clubs available for them to join. Although they love other outdoor sports this is a major thing for them.

Also do they do soccer at school or just Aussie Rules?

Lots of soccer clubs around, all age ranges, wide range of prices (from $150 a year to over $700!) The club soccer season here is just about to start actually, and runs through till about October. Outside of that time, there is plenty of soccer to watch too, from the local team Adelaide United, to Socceroos matches (the Australian side) and of course this year with the world cup there's going to be massive soccer hype as ong as the aussies stay in the tournament!

 

With the cultural mix of italians, greeks, poms and croatians, your sons can rest assured that although Aussie Rules is the main focus, there are plenty of soccer clubs and opportunities, both at school and in clubs.

 

This year, my son (playing U13s this year) will be playing school soccer on Saturday mornings, followed by club soccer Saturday afternoons!

Our boy played for Hastings United under 10's before moving here near two years ago. Probably know you all? I used to help the under 10's

He has just started playing again for a local side here and loving it, In my opinion at youth age soccer here is at a higher standard than at similar ages in Uk. Just a shame at older level the money is not in the game. There are loads of teams all across Adelaide both at Federation level and at normal level. federation clubs tend to be expensive from what I have heard although standard tends to be higher.

Your boys should have no trouble finding a team when they get here after playing at the high standard hastings United run at

Schools do all sports, our two love it here.

First kick offs this weekend, and with all the rain the pitches should be fun!

 

LOADS of soccer clubs over here, lots of talent and very family orientated. They will have a ball.

Ian/Rachel- Hi, they both played for different teams before, Spartan, that would have been U11's and Hastings Hawks U10's. They are in their element as season finishing here now and due to the AWFUL weather hardly any games, soooo many called off due to waterlogged pitches! Can't say am looking forward to going from beg of spring, only just in past 2 days! here to Winter there!!! BRRRR! But am hoping your winter is milder than the one we've just gone through?
