Hey, emigrated two years ago, single, happily settled with two young children, working full time but miss the social scene/nightlife that seemed to be in abundance in the UK! Moving to Mount Barker in the next couple of months, so not too far from the city, would love to meet new people and catch up when possible (between kids, work, home!).. anyone in the same boat?? :cute:

That sounds fab and yes, those I know are mainly married and settled down or years younger than me..only in my 30's so lots of life still in me yet... would be great to catch up for a coffee... or even a night out if we are lucky!.. Have plenty of opportunity as like you, shared custody with the children (great given that family don't exist living here)...

Currently in Oz, been here nearly two years, work full time (9-5 mon-fri luckily) so free most weekends, some with/without the kids... So how about you, you work full time? how old are your little ones or one? I have two girls, one 11, one 3 so a nice big age gap... Only just signed up to this site, how do I private message? Great to hear from you and comforting to know that I'm not the only one in this position! pretty challenging but all very worth it :)

Guest Adelaide Dad

Hi sunflower and ozzieclare2be - hope you are both now well settled into life in Adelaide and managing to socialise and get to know people. I am a single Dad with 3 kids and looking to open up the social network as well. I was in the UK back in October of last year and absolutely loved it - already looking to plan my next trip back there.
