We finally arrived in Adelaide on the 1st Dec, jet lag hit us and we felt awful for the first couple of days, finding our feet now and have managed to register for Medicare, visit the local school, find the nearest beach and we have driven to the City, have interviews for work lined up for Friday and Monday, so fingers crossed.....................we are now anxious to meet people and start socialising or at least find out where people meet up? We are based in Seaview Downs at the moment so if anyone knows where we can meet please let us know asap

thanks

Hi Rik and co

Welcome to Adelaide .... seems like only yesterday you were over side asking questions! Can't believe time has gone so quickly.

Have a look in the social section about our playgroup on tuesdays at 11am if you fancy meeting quite a few folks all in one go.

I would love to join you at Play n Fun Judi but we are in the middle of house move etc, all very exciting now.

Hope to cross paths soon.

Hi and Welcome.

We have been here since October. Seems a lifetime ago making preparations and flying over. I see you managed the important things, like finding the beach., and medicare incase you get sand in your eye. We spent a couple of days in a daze, :SLEEP:like yourselves, tired from the travelling.

We are renting not far from you in Glenelg. So if you fancy calling in just send us a PM and we will arrange to meet up.

PS did you bring some of the UK weather with you? People were convinced we had when we arrived, because it rained and was windy for a short period.

Take care.

Hi Lyn & Neil

Just reading your thread, saw that you are now living not far from glenelg. We that is Kevin and I, are hopefully coming out to adelaide around May/June time (hopefully house will be sold by then). We will be in rented accommodation around glenelg/westlakes area to start with for 3 months (compliments of the company Kevin will be working for).

Could you tell us your general opinion of Glenelg and surrounding areas? Kevin will be working in Osborne area, could you tell us how far this is from westlakes or glenelg.

Would like to meet up when we finally get over there, as only Kevin and myself will be emigrating, leaving (sob sob) grown up children here in england. We are hoping one day they will join us but who knows!

We are both in our early, very early 50ies and fancy a few tinnies on one of those wonderful beaches you have over there.

Have you settled in adelaide now? Was it difficult to start with? Oh soooooooo many questions. I could go on and on, but will stop there for now.

All the best and keep living the dream

Babz & Kevin :D
