Don't worry, there are a fair few supporters over here...there are also (I hear) a couple of pubs in Adelaide where you can enjoy your passion with other worryingly like-minded individuals! :D

 

And for that extra show of support, why not buy a license plate with 'your' team' on it?

 

Or you could come to your senses and enjoy Aussie Rules footy which has got to be the best game in the world. (Although I did feel very proud watching the Socceroos last night!):notworthy:

I think the pub in the CBD is called the Rosemount and is in Hindley Street. A football supporters club sounds like a fantastic idea I think it would be the first one in Adelaide as well!!!

just joined site this week n among otherthings to consider is the most important of where to watch footie with people who get carried away with it all,as a sunderland fan i may not have too much too shout about but i,m still red n white no matter where my i maybe,what about you:arghh:

I think anyone who likes football should go, but there are a few decent places to watch, PJ O'briens and the casino also show the football. But during the summer the first match is on TV at 11:30pm, never been awake for the later matches... ha ha, unless it's West Brom..

I went to the last match of the season for Adelaide Utd just a few weeks ago, and i thought it was fantastic, so much so, and mate and i will become season ticket holders next season. A pub nearby sold happy hour drinks to supporters, you can sit where ever you want in the stand (only one area is restricted), or even stand and watch, drink beer in the stands, and it's possible to get served at half time... I was spoilt.... Oh and the football wasn't that bad either....

Lol that's great Rob. I'll have to check it out. My husband has no interest whatsoever in football (if it isn't cars it isn't any good) but I had the best fun watching the world cup matches at the pub in England, so I thought why not start fresh when getting to Adelaide so I can actually find a team to support.

 

What do you mean you can get served at half time? In England, do you not constantly get served throughout the game? (That's what makes baseball so great back home...beer, hot dogs, peanuts etc constantly coming around.)

hi everyone

 

me and my family coming over 4 another holiday to adelaide we are ARSENAL SUPPORTERS:biglaugh: we would be looking at a pub or venue to go to to watch the football

 

aswell i am a football coach in u.k and i would like to carry this on in adelaide when we do move out there. Last year when i came out i helped coach at para hills it was great to improve the youngests in the community anyway it will be nice to see how the teams in u.k r getting on so we could have some banter:v_SPIN:

All i meant was at West Brom in the stand where i watrched the game, the fans had one small hatch with which to get drinks, as you can't drink whilst watching the game in the stand, everyone runs down at half time, and it's impossible for everyone to get served.

 

At Adelaide Utd there were loads of vendors selling all the things that are bad for you, and with the ground being open it's just so easy to go wherever you want.... I missed my football too, but watching Adelaide Utd was a good alternative.

Love the idea of getting together to watch footie, we are ALL avid Manchester United supporters, who we've seen a couple of times at Old Trafford, the thought of not watching them all the time is killing us, I really like the idea of 5 aside I've played over here for local teams and my son Brad also has played 5 aside. Our home is up for sale so we're hoping to be in Adelaide about April, so find a decent pub where we can cheer on our teams!

Sounds good to me or us,:notworthy:suser what a great idea going to a match, and getting together to watch the footie , even if it will be at 4 in the morning sounds great, when we were on our reccie we watched the rugby with guzzler at 4 in the morning.....Yid army;) Cheers Graham & Jacqui

I'm impressed:shocked: Man U fans that know where Old Trafford is. :shocked: Mind you you've only been a couple of times (avid supporters???) so you probably asked for directions.:P:biglaugh:
