The Mela Indian festival is on next Friday and Saturday in town in Elder Park. All the major Indian resteraunts will have stalls there. Friday is open from 6-10 and there is going to be an Indian Wedding. Sat 11-11. Bollywood music, dance, arts n craft for the kids, rides, jewellry.

 

Costs Fri $5

Sat $7, consession $5, family $18 2 adults and 2 kids under 11.

 

Sounds good to me, but I think I'm working Sat afternoon...

Hmmm Mmmm!!! Ian and I were just discussing yesterday about the post on here about Indian Restaurants. We plan to check out the Balti House on Goodwood Rd next week but this sounds just as good too.

We had curry from Charminar on brighton rd on sat night. It was the best curry I have had for a while!

Charminar's I think is between the Metro and Seacombe Rd. A new Charminar's has also opened on Anzac Highway in Plympton.

Charminer is just up from Charlies Diner, on the same side. We had a takeaway from there Sun night, first time we tried it, it was pretty damn good.

 

Also love the Jasmine in the city, really recommend there.

 

Personally I found the Balti House didn't come up to expectations at all.

 

Tandoori takeaway on Brighton Road not too bad either.
