Meet new friends

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.

Have just come across this site after six years of being in Adelaide and so giving it ago to see if we can meet some new friends. From when we arrived through kids sports, school and work etc we found friends as you do, and although we still socialise with a few of them which is great, others have moved on or moved away, which is understandable as its very difficult to get them special friends where you can feel comfortable with like you did back home with family and friends.

We are a couple in our mid forties with a two teenage kids and living in the n / eastern suburbs. Friendly and a good laugh.

Hi Gazza and Guys

I have been reading POA and following for sometime now, more in a stealth mode.

We are planning to move over in August and suppose now is the right time to start to build some friendship bridges.

We have two teenage kids, daughter nearly 16 and son 19, in our mid forties and not sure of which suburb we will end up in yet... leaving it to the last minute as usual.

feel free to get in touch and maybe someday meet up and "Chew the fat" over a cold one.

Whats the north eastern suburbs like for access to everywhere?

Cheers

Chris

Hi Chris, anything over a cold one is an offer I can't refuse lol

The north east suburbs especially with the O,Bahn bus track is I would say is very accessible to most places, but even though Adelaide's traffic isn't nowhere as bad as what I had to endure back in the UK, I personally wouldn't want to be living in the northern

suburbs and having to work down south and vice versa.

Hi all, seems like there are quite a few 40 something couples in the same situation. We are in Port Noarlunga with 2 children one being a teenager. I enjoy meeting people and so if anyone is interested in coffee or perhaps dog walk one day to start with?

that's easier said than done!! I've been to at least one alleged meet where no one turns up and I know of others who have experienced the same.

That's a fair point Britgirl, maybe the PM is the better option and perhaps that way you get a little bit more personal and more of a feel for the person and whether you think you'll be compatible or not.

Thanks for the reply's and hopefully some off you will be able to get together, but every reply and PM is from people living down south, hmm!!

Just a little too far for us unfortunately, but good luck with your meet up, which being in a bakehouse I'm sure they won't miss out on that one :)
