Any mums in Henley, Glenelg, Semaphore areas

Recommended Posts

Hi

Very recently moved to Henley Beach from Melbourne and looking for some socialising. I have a four year old son who is starting kinder next year and a baby due in February. Looking for any mums who fancy catching up at the park, beach or cafe....or evening wine :)

Info on playgroups or good parks also appreciated

Would love to hear from you

Julia

A couple of things you might want to try

Kindergym at Western Youth Centre Marion Road (between Henley Beach Rd and Sir Donald Bradman Drive) Tuesday and Thursday mornings

Playgroup at Reedbeds Community Center (just off Tapleys Hill Road) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday mornings

Apex playground at West Beach (Burbridge Road on left as you drive from beach to airport) would be great for Master 4

Hi Julia, Im Maria, we moved over from the UK to Adelaide about 4months ago. I have a 4 year old daughter and a 17month old son. I attend a number of playgroups in the Henley beach area. I attend temple playgroup which is run every Thursday morning 9:30am to 11:30am at the Henley-Fulham Uniting Church on 214 Military Road. ($5) I also attend a playgroup at Fulham Gardens Primary School, they hold one every morning, 9:30am to 11:30, 5 days a week, we go to the Tuesday session ($2) I also attend MOPS which is held every 2 weeks at the Family Christian Centre, Frederiecks Road... this is a fantastic oppotunity to meet new mums and its a little more than just a playgroup. I also have my dauhter attending Kindergarden in January so we are making making the most of the playgroups and parks. One of the parks we go to often is Kirkcaldy Park, nice place to feed ducks and they have a new playground for the children, swings, slide etc... I would be very happy to meet up.

Hi Maria, wow you keep yourself busy, thank you for all the suggestions, I might try the military road one next week as that's just round the corner from me. Have sent you a PM about meeting up

Hi Julia,

I m new to the glenelg area. Here with Hubby and my 1 year old. I m also expecting our second child in December. I m about a year behind your post - but wondered if you have any advice for a newbie to Adelaide.

Thanks

Hi Lauren

welcome to Glenelg, a lovely area , where are you originally from? We have since bought a renovation project a bit further up the coast in Largs bay but still often go to Glenelg or Henley where my son still goes to Kindy. Let me know if you fancy meeting up for a coffee, you have arrived at a nice time of year.

Not sure of any groups in Glenelg but I was recommended a good playgroup in Brighton. There are a couple of mummy Facebook pages depending on your age/ what you're into. 'Mummy Therapy' does mums nights out and play dates, 'Adelaide Mums over 35'.

will have a think about any more, most library's have good story time sessions and wiggley worms in Glenelg is nice. I tried to send you a PM but it wouldn't go through as you are a new member
