New Years Eve - whats everyone doing?

Hi all,

 

Now Christmas is out of the way, we are starting to think of NYE and trying to decide what to do. We have never been "out" anywhere for NYE in Adelaide before - usually just around at friends houses etc.

 

However, this year, we were thinking of maybe heading out somewhere....but don't know what's on and what's good.

 

Any suggestions?

We're off to the T20 cricket at Adelaide Oval this year. We have kids and don't do really late nights so will just head home afterwards. In the last we've been to the fireworks at Elder park. Just the 9pm ones though. They have them at 12 midnight as well. I believe there are also fireworks at Glenelg as well. I don't know about Glenelg but at Elder Park there are food and drink stalls and music as well.

We are doing the same as NicF. Grandparents gave us a family ticket to the T20 on New Years.

 

We hit Glenelg beach last NY. Was lovely. We did the early round of fireworks at 9pm aimed at families and those not wanting to be out in the midnight mayhem. We were on the beach, it was 30C so kids had a dip, had some food and drinks with us. Glenelg had food and drink stalls, live music, children's entertainer, face painting and stuff for kids. Boats in the water, lots on the beach but didn't feel crowded though.

We've done Vic Harbour, quite relaxed and family friendly. Glenelg, good vibe, family friendly too and last year Elder Park, the best for the actual firework display. This year, Sydney!!! Can't wait :-)
