Hi all,

I have started a new group on here for anyone wanting to join the Gallahs and play a round of golf or three with fellow PIA members. If you are interested in joining the society please feel free to join the group. You don't need to be any good (I'm all the evidence you need for that;)) but if you want to join in the fun and play a few holes then sign up and we then will know who to contact when we plan to invade a course.

There is a company near me that does golfing/wine /foodie tours. You get to play on the Royal Adelaide Golf Course, then sample wines etc. They also do longer tours. I think it is called TasteSA, try googling it, but I will get the pamphlet that someone so helpfully left in the printer at work later, cos right now I got to go bed.zzzzzzz, just got home from work.

Matt is still waiting for his clubs to arrive and he is not that good, but it would be a great opportunity for him to meet some other blokes who are in the same boat (from the UK, not rubbish at golf.......;))

Put him on the list please and when you have a game or two, let us know. Also it will give him something else to talk about at the meet up in Glenelg!!

Cheers

Hi Traci,

you will have to add him as I don't think I can. Just click on the link on my first post and its quite straight forward to add him.

Yo dudes

Well done M8 on starting the group on here, have just joinned.

May I suggest a wonderful course for those living in the South of ADL, Willunga, a public course that is just magnificent and has a thousand resident gallah's there too, plus lots of other flora and fauna (and one less duck.....you know who you are:embarrassed:).

I missed the last game there due to poor health and generally feeling out of sorts, I'm afraid the job situation is really getting to me and until its sorted I will have to cry off until things change but fingers crossed should be driving into the bushes once more and trying to kill the wildlife around the course.:notworthy:

Hi all,

we got our clubs last Thursday and have managed 1 night so far at the O'halloran Hill driving range, but kids were jumping around in the background so only a couple of decent hits.

I have only just taken up the sport but my OH has played a few games, still not that great at the moment, but would love to take it up properly and get better with the help of a few Gallahs!!

So our names are down.

My name is there on behalf of my beloved OH who is thoroughly enjoying this sport.

I am not so sure...some clever clog hit a duck on the side of the head last week. Some magpies went straight for it and by the time the chaps got there, they could see why - half it's head was missing !!!!!

The a*ses then tried to break its neck which failed. So they stood on the half of a head that was left.

Duck murderers!!!!!!

Just had a look at the group and we are already up to 12 members. It does appear that someone is missing. Could someone point him in the direction of the group as it looks like he needs to produce more membership cards.:)

Never too late Nicky. It doesn't matter on whether you are in the UK or Adelaide you can still join. There is no reason why we couldn't organise rounds on both sides of the world. Its all about socialising and having a laugh or two along the way. I myself, won't be out there for a few moths yet so yep this is open to everyone, anytime.

Here's the blurb about the golf n food day ...

Golf & Gourmet Celebrity Chef – Day Tour – 3 Day / 2 Night

Start the tour with an informative introduction to Adelaide prior to a hit of golf at Adelaide’s historic Royal Adelaide Golf Club. The course is ranked in Australia’s top 5 and recognised as the most challenging in Adelaide. The third hole is regarded as the finest short par 4 in Australia. With a glass of wine in hand enjoy, taste and talk through the culinary delights being prepared by your celebrity chef. Take the time to engage the chef, Andrew Fielke and gain another insight to the way Australians enjoy their fabulous food and wine. Andrew Fielke is know as "The Wizard of OZ as he continues to perform magic with unique Australian products" . He is renown as Australia’s leading chef and authority on preparing innovative Australian Native Cuisine. This hands on experience gives you the opportunity to assist in the preparation of your meal if you wish, or just sit back and indulge!!

Might be a bit pricey though, cos some of their wine tours are a couple of $100!

Only joking. No worries Leanne. You are more than welcome to join in the fun, the more the merrier. :D
