His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Le will personally welcome visitors into the State Rooms of Government House, where those who are curious about what happens behind-the-scenes, displays focusing on the present day will provide details on the inner workings of Government House. Meanwhile, history enthusiasts can immerse themselves in a bygone era with historical displays and memorabilia.

 

· Find out who was murdered in Government House and look out for the ghost

· Imagine yourself dining on fresh South Australian and home grown produce at the State Dining Room table, which will be set with silver and crystal for a formal dinner

· View where the Governor presides over Executive Council

 

Our partner, Cancer Council SA will keep you entertained with family friendly games and activities, including a bouncy castle, mini putt-putt golf, arts and crafts, giant snakes and ladders and face painting.

 

Enjoy refreshments on the lawns whilst listening to the Band of the South Australia Police and Chicago Showband – coffee, drinks, BBQ and snacks will be available for purchase from Cancer Council SA.

 

Staff and volunteers of Government House will be available to answer questions inside the House and tours of the gardens will be guided by the Friends of the Adelaide Botanic Gardens.

 

Come and spend a day at Government House and enjoy activities organised by Cancer Council SA, Relay For Life – the world’s largest community-powered event to beat cancer.

 

Entry is free. An optional gold coin donation will be collected with proceeds going to Cancer Council SA.
