Adelaide meet up in November?

Hi all,

There seem to be lots of us arriving around the same time in October, anyone fancy a meet-up around 15/16 November? :wubclub:

As the weather should be OK what about Henly Beach? It's a good half-way house between north & south dwellers. There is a lovely grassy area for games if there are any children and several eateries dotted around the square behind the beach and parking is reasonable. All suggestions welcome.

Perhaps some 'older' members of PIA would also attend to help us 'newbies' settle into our new lives? :jiggy:

Sounds good to us.... is there a railway station there?

Glad to see you. Not sure about railways though but I am sure some helpful member may know???

Dan, good to hear from you, hope you and Steph are OK.

Hi Kev and Mall,

Just perfect, nice place and good location. See you there. Good little coffee shop on the corner and parking is pretty easy as you say.

We are looking forward to it.

Take care and have a safe trip see you soon.

Martin and Val :)

Count us in too. Our new baby should be around 6 weeks by then (assuming she comes on time!) so we'll hopefully be ready to start socialising again by then!

cheers

Looking like there will be a good few coming. Looking forward to meeting everybody. We have a big Oz flag we could bring and set out on the grass. That will save folks walking around wondering 'is that a PIA?'

Hi Kev and Mall,

Just bumping this thread back up to the top.

Have you decided what day yet? I see that the 15th is OK for "the4hopes" and that will be fine with us.

Should be easy to spot the POM's Lilly white legs and shorts!:biglaugh:

See you soon

Martin and Val

PS: I think I have already PM you our Aussie mobile numbers but just in case I will send them again.

OK folks, Lets make it Saturday 15th November then as this seems to be a date most people can make. Would 2 o/c be a good time for everyone? Footballs, dogs, kids etc, need someone to organise a game of cricket/football/rounders. What about bringing picnics? Think there will be too many of us to book tables at the cafe'/restaurants.

Will keep an eye on this thread for a couple more weeks then we will be off line until we get sorted out over there.

Good luck with anyone moving soon.

Do you think we should wear names so we know who we all are (by the way I know Django isn't on, but for reference,I know who I am!!!!) After all most of us seem too shy too put our photos up!

Its funny, when you go to Crete or Tenerife all the time share people and scratch card people know who the brits are. I will attach my name badge to my Chelsea football shirt above my lily white legs and Union Jack beach towel just in case you dont spot me.

As far as I am concerned I am doing the world a big favour by not putting our photo's on the site. Very scary stuff.

Yes, I think name tags are a good idea as we will never remember everyone! We will be the flag bearers so you will know us.

On site until 9th October so will keep thread going for a slong as possible.
