We certainly used them and in our cases too. If you can get hold of silica sachets put them in with any photographs/clothes etc to prevent any damage or that damp musty smell. You can buy them on eBay

South Australia Its Heaps Good !!! & I'm lovin it !!!
we used one to suck all the air out of a 4ft sponge bob soft toy that our daughter refused to part with and he arrived safely:)
Dawn (40) Chat Host, Andy (38) Electrician,Jake(16)Jessica(10)Molly(9) arrived in adelaide 30th april 2008, living in seaford and loving life!!
We used loads of them in the container and our luggage to get us here too!! They are fantastic for things like duvets, pillows, winter coats and kids soft toys. Especially if you are doing a shared container and need to economise on space. I would definately recommend them.
absolutely everything soft went in vacuum bags. creates and awful lot of space but an awful lot of ironing too.

Arrived 26 March 2010 and loving it
We also used them, no probs, we put a bounce dry tumbledry sheet in every bag and 8 weeks later the stuff still smelled lovely and fresh. We suckied every bag and left them a few days any that blew back up we threw out and replaced. Also if you can buy a few sets of sheets for each bed as they are expensive over here even for poor quality. Have fun and safe journey xx
We ventured into the unknown and are ready to do it all again..
if your sending any drawers over put you linen.clothes into sealed bags and fill the drawers...use up all that space.....

I dont know if ill make it to Christmas at this rate, i might be a ball of mush by then!!!!!![]()
I've used these many many times ( even better when the weight limit used to be higher ). They are fantastic and typically cheap to get! Just make sure you get the ones you actually vacuum the air of out rather then roll the air out of.
