Hi. we are looking at hiring a car for about three weeks, when we first get there, but then want to look at buying a car. We don't want to buy a cheap one that is going to give us loads of problems, (as we did over here). How easy will it be to get finance from a car dealership to be able to buy a more decent car.

If you have a job, should be easy. Banks can be better though for a loan because the interest rate is lower as you secure the loan against the car, and you can go out knowing how much you have to spend. If you already have finance approved then you may be able to haggle.
