with business class you get to use the lounges in heathrow and singapore which are very nice relaxed and kids are welcome it may seem a lot of money but its a new life and a new start for you and family thats how i saw it

I totally agree with you it is a new start and yes, great to have all the benefits of flying business class. But OMG!! I just looked at the fares. £5000/adult and with 3 adults (my eldest daughter will be 12 by a couple of months can you believe so will be classed as an adult) and 2 child fares, well I haven't even bothered to work out just what that amounts to. So I looked at the economy fares instead, still with singaporeair and they were about £3,800. More like it. However my local travel agent who apparently specialise in Australia quoted about £2,800 with Malaysian Airlines. Has anyone had any good/bad experience with them? Initially I thought what a good price but after reading everyone's comments about travel agents being more expensive than going direct I'm wondering how the travel agent I used managed to get such a low price. I can't help but ask what's the catch? Should I be wary?

      Malaysian Airlines?

Hi - We too were wondering about Malaysian Airlines as have been to Singapore before, and even though absolutley loved it, was hoping to stop off in Kuala Lumpar for a few days. Would be very interested to hear if anyone's done a stop-over in Malaysia - and their experiences of Malaysian Airlines too.

      Thank you! x

      Hi
We flew with Malaysian airways last year. They were lovely nothing too much trouble. Even when there was a fight on the plane there were so many male stewards in total control at all times. Food was good..well as good as it gets on a plane..certainly was edible..
Had game consoles in the seats and you could control when you watched the films etc. drinks were plentiful. KL airport clean and spacious. a few shops to look in. When we visited they were having a celebration 50 years of flying I think ..so they had music and dancers to entertain us all and food to try. So I was OK to go back to Oz this year with them. However OH found a slightly cheaper flight with Singapore airways. so looking forward to the 6 hours wait there!!??

Thanks very much, will hunt around when it's time to book. The cheaper airfare will probably win hands down!

It's a while ago that we did it, but when we booked ours we used a company called Lees Travel (www.leestravel.com) who were actually able to beat the price of booking direct with Singapore Airlines.
