Car licences (class c) are a straight swap but the HGV licences require you to do the test again.

I have a family member who had to do the test and now has an Australian HR licence.

[h=3]Other recognised overseas licences[/h]South Australia recognises the driver licensing and testing standards in the countries listed below.

If you have held a driver's licence within the last five years in one of these countries, you are not required to take driving tests in South Australia.

* A provisional licence in the Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom is equivalent to a South Australian learner's permit.

If you wish to keep your licence to drive a vehicle other than a car or motorcycle, you must undertake a practical driving test in a vehicle of that class. This does not include road trains and B-doubles.
