      Fiji islands ???

      Hi All

We have booked to go to Fiji next winter for 10 days, But I have now decided to extend the holiday for 5 more nights as the flights are a bit pricey and we want to have a really nice long break.

We are looking to stay on a family friendly Island for the extra 5 nights, we have a 7 year old and she loves to be active so a kids club would be nice but not essential, anyone got any recommendations????

      Thanks
      Kim

Plantation Island was good last time we went - great snorkelling, and the villa we were in was right by the beach. Ours are a bit old for kids club but the one there gets pretty good reviews. Have a look at Tripadviser for some viewpoints.

      Thanks Diane

We were looking at this one last night, does look nice, did you stay in the beachfront Bures? what was the food like? expensive or not too bad.

      Thanks

Hi, yes we were in a beachfront Bure - ask for one in the 200 range if you book as they are the best located. Food was pretty reasonably priced - not gourmet or anything but plenty of choice and there was a supermarket there where you could buy stuff for lunches etc. We also took a bottle of duty free vodka with us and bought really cheap fruit cocktails from the bar to sip outside our bure, topped up from our bottle!! Don't go expecting luxury or anything, I think it's 3 stars or something like that, but the snorkelling and diving was fantastic there, the water was really safe for kids to swim in and the people there were friendly and helpful. If you look on Tripadviser back to about April 2010 you might be able to find the review I put up there.
We booked through www.travelonline.com - just booked our next years trip to Vanuatu with them as well. They often have good offers.
My TA review might be here: http://www.tripadvisor.com.au/ShowUserReviews-g308256-d309584-r62809948-Plantation_Island_Resort-Malolo_Lailai_Island_Mamanuca_Islands.html
