Anyone driven from Sydney to Melborne??

Just wondered if anyone has driven from Sydney to Melbourne recently??

If so if they have any information on stop offs, places of interest, places to stay etc etc And roughly how long it took them!

      Thanks ;)

We did a longer route, south from Sydney, stopping at Batemans Bay, Merimbula, and Lakes Entrance, we was going to stop at Sale to, but it was a bit of a backwater town and bombed on to Melbourne. Merimbula was my favourite of the towns we stopped at, sitting on the decking of the RSL club overlooking the lake with a mountain of wedges (medium portion)

The scenery south of Sydney was breathtaking, with green fields in the hills, before dropping down to cross old wooden bridges on the coast, I actually enjoyed that part of the drive more than the Great Ocean road. The drive from Lakes entrance to Melbourne though is dull, just arable land, but maybe there is another route that we missed.
