Camping - where to go????

We are off camping this weekend for the first time. Other than Normansville, (as we already have plans to visit) can anyone suggest a site with a gas BBQ and showers ideally within about an hour of Adelaide???

Cheers

Aussie Pat's other half here. You could try Tanunda caravan park in the Barossa, if it doesn't have to be beach. We put our camper through its paces there for the first time recently and thought it was ok. There's a small pool there and of course there's all that wine round about. It's a well looked after site and yes it does have barbies and showers. About hour and quarter from centre of Adelaide.

A group of us are going to Tanunda this weekend, camping and I know the sites are full as its 'Party on the Green' concert this weekend.

We have had to go onto the unpowered part of the site ! :arghh:

I want to try AdelaideShores Big 4 site next year, just got back from Renmark also a Big 4 site and would defo go back to this one.

Port Elliot Big 4 is also good and the Middleton site.

Have a good weekend.

Pt Elliot is nice on an excellent beach

Williamstown is a regular on our camping schedule - sat next the town's oval and swimming pool and on the doorstep to the cellars of the barossa

When we first started camping here we went to Middleton a few times. Its very basic and has no park or pool, but there is a bbq and the facilities are lovely and clean.Port Elliot is a lovely campsite really well maintained. We found Goolwa to be ok, but the toilets and showers were filled with flying insects and it made it nigh on impossible to the the kids in there!! We're off to Tanunda with Tina P at the weekend but yes its a non powered site so that is going to be......interesting!

Renmark big 4 waterfront is by far the best site we've ever been to but its a long way off, about 3 houyrs from the city.

Hope you find a good spot, happy camping!

The unpowered sites at Tanunda are the best ones there! We stayed on a couple of them last Easter and we had so much more room than on the powered sites, and space to set everything up around a central area where we and all the people with us could congregate together. Also for future reference, Beanbear, that site accepted dogs too.

Second Valley is a nice spot if you haven't been before, basic but good facilities, and a good spot for a bit of fishing (and we took the dog with us there too).
