Melbourne St Kilda

Recommended Posts

Well we came back from a flying visit seeing our big kids in St Kilda this weekend.

And can highly reccommend St Kilda...very vibrant...very cosmo....meditaranian feel about it....some cracking bars, restaurants...and clubs abound.

Would not like to live there but deffo will go back again...just wouldnt drive next time.......all in all a better experience of Melly than the last time i was throught there....

Sounds like fun!I love Melbourne.Heaps Good,I travelled to Melly years ago on the Overlander train. Not sure of the times now,but it left around 6.30pm and arrived in Melbourne around 8am from memory. It stopped at pretty much every little town on the way(hence the journey time!)to delivery the mail ect.I got a sleeper, and I recall it being quite cheap too!So that could be a great option next time round, and then maybe hire a car when you arrive?

My OH just came back from Melbourne, girls weekend away with my daughter, they both loved it, QV markets, river cruise, shopping at the factory outlets, crown casino, etc etc.

We are driving to Melbourne when we complete on the sale of our house on 29th April. Did you drive direct or did you stay overnight on the way? If the latter can you advise on places to stay?

Cheers

We are off to Melbourne, staying at St Kilda for the Easter weekend, we will travel into Melbourne by tram, anyone got any suggestions for things to see and do. There will be 2 adults and a ten year old going, Luna Park and the Melbourne Museum are already penciled in.

Any advice greatly welcome.

We stopped in a little place called Arorat...cost us 90 bux for the night and it broke the journey up well with good nights sleep.

Check out a site called wotif.com for some good deals for pretty much anywhere...
