Days out within a 2hr radius of CBD

We live in Southern Suburbs and were looking for ideas of nice places to visit/drives out within a couple of hours drive from the CBD in any direction.

I'm not sure how basic to go, since you've been here since Dec 09, so apologies if I'm telling you everything you already know.

 

Victor Harbor/ Port Elliot/ Goolwa. Granite Island tram, walk up Bluff, dusk penguin walk on Granite Island, boat trip from causeway on Big Duck (?). Boat trip from Goolwa to Coorong, visit Hindmarsh Island and go to viewing platform for Murray mouth.

 

Fleurieu peninsula - Myponga Beach, Normanville, Second Valley.

 

Mannum for a taste of River Murray towns.

 

St Kilda for Mangrove walk and adventure playground. How old's your boy? We have early teenagers and they still enjoyed it. Feels a bit other wordly there when you pass by salt pans and conical piles of salt. Bit out on a limb, but there is a pub - haven't tried it.

 

Usual suspects for wineries - Barossa and Mclaren vale, but also Clare should be within your 2 hour limit.

 

Burra to North East for attractive country town and old copper mines - well worth a visit and part of State history.

 

Torrens Gorge drive and Birdsville motor museum.

There are enough day trips heres to keep you busy for sometime!!!
