Decided to do the South Pacific Cruise this Christmas as having all our family in the Uk and the kids have grown, we decided to get away and enjoy the holiday and not worry too much about the silly festive season. Our 18yr old son coming with us and our 22 year old daughter happy to stay with her boyfriend. Has anyone been before?Looking forward to being waited on for a change at Christmas....

Cruise critic.com, will give you heaps of info, we have cruised the pacific star, now scrapped, pacific sun, rhapsody of the seas and mariner of the seas, the latter 2 ar under royal carribean and the 1st two under p&o Australia. Advantage with p&o is it's Aussie $ onboard, royal is American. All ships are unlimited food and included, drinks are around $ 6 plus, soft drinks around $3. The sun is only 49k tones, mariner 138k tones, huge difference. Outside with a balcony is the way to go, I can go on forever and forever, we love it. There are 2 other ships dawn princess and sun princess which are good, next year a couple of biggies are coming, celebrity solstice and voyager of the seas, sister to the mariner, solstice is really really nice..also look at radiance of the seas she arrives into port Adelaide 1st week November, she was our cruise until we changed to mariner, long story.. I have DVD,s you can borrow of ships we,ve bee on. Gotta go now as using downloads up

Hi Guys,

We are booked onto the Pacific Sun leaving Sydney on 11/12 for 8 nights. We have cruised many times before, mainly with Carnival from Florida. We have twins and when they were younger the kids club was an absolute godsend. We are a group of 14 this year and are really looking forward to it. We will be visiting Numea (not sure about spelling), Venauatu (again not sure about spelling) and the Isle of Pines. This will be our first Oz cruise but if its as good as the other ones we have been on it certainly wont be our last.

Hope you have a great time

The cruise around Vanuatu will be good, you must do the tribal village tour if it's available, awesome, also when you get back to the ship after the shore day you will find the locals in their tribal gear dancing etc etc..just hope the seas are not rough going over there, she is only a small ship.

ozcruising.com.au. Is a really good site to book through on the web or you can use Zak at west lakes Harvey World travel, he,s excellent, got great knowledge of ships

Onya Diane, the DP ship is a good one for that trip over to NZ as she is big, but the PS I would not touch especially over to NZ as it's too small. All P&O Australia ships are hand me downs from European cruise lines and are OVER priced.
