Weekend away in the Adelaide Hills

Recommended Posts

Just spent a couple of nights in this lovely country cottage called Henry's in Basket Range in the Adelaide Hills. It has a great sun room, bathroom and balcony all with countryside views. If anyone is looking for a romantic couples getaway I can recommend it. The scenery in the Adelaide Hills is very green at this time of the year and there are some lovely views as you drive along the windy roads. The hills were very chilly (the snowflake light on our car came on meaning it is cold, that is only the second time it has come on in Adelaide in the 7 years we have lived here!) and we had fog on Friday night when we left the restaurant in Crafers.

We called off for lunch at The Scenic Hotel at Norton Summit (not been before and they are also in the entertainment book) while we were up there and the sticky date pudding was very good! From the pub balcony you can see the redeveloped Adelaide Oval. There is also an interesting memorial garden opposite to Tom Playford (SA Premier for 26 years) who was born at Norton Summit.
