Unless you are into fishing I found 'Yorkes' to be quite boring!! Millions of flies at Innes National Park, great beaches, cold water. If you are looking for a total chill out then its good but not much to do.

Depending on how long you have then the Grampians are really good. Consider Robe, Beachport, Naracorte area as well.

I guess it depends what you are looking for :yesxmas:.

We have only stayed in Black Point ( four/five times ) but we love it. The shack we use, which belongs to a friend, is one of the originals and is within feet of the sea...although all the shacks along Black Point are, the newer ones are built further back and although are still shacks, can be worth a heap! Anyway, we love the fact there's nothing to do. We just walk along the beach, chatting to the neighbours, barbie, fish/crab, collect shells and play games.

It's not a long journey but the peace is wonderful...although it does get a bit more manic during the summer hols lol!

If you are prepared to go that bit further there are lovely bits further on/across, but we're happy at BP!

Yorke peninsula is a very relaxing place to go. I would recommend Stansbury or Port Vincent as a starting point. both have great caravan parks and camping facilities available and there are right on the beach in easy walking distance of the local shops and pub. From Stansbury you can access Edithburgh, Kadina, Port Turnton, Moonta Bay and the many more beautiful places to visit. Innes National Park is a great walk, the historic village is quite nice. In Moonta and Port Hughes you can check out the "cornish" tin mines and the history attached. Port Julia and Black Point are both delightful, there is nothing but fishing, beaches and peace. Plenty of wildlife to check out. Do be careful what time you leave as lots of locals leave friday nights for their shacks and traffic on Port Wakefield Road can be a bit of a nightmare.
