Port Victoria - Anyone been?

We've been lucky enough to borrow a friends shack at Port Victoria for a few days.

Has anyone been there? How long a drive is it from Hallett Cove do you think?

Is there anything to do apart from relax and fish (not complaining) there....any other sights to see? :)

Cheers

Hey Judi,

We went to Port Victoria at Christmas. We had a great time.

We found that out of the towns we visited on the York Penisular Port Victoria was the most scenic.

There's a museum on the jetty as the town was the last port for the windjammers, and there is a walk similar to Hallet Cover along the foreshore with all the different rocks etc...

The beach at Port Victoria isn't great,, but there are fantastic beaches just a couple of km's up and down the coast. We sotted some rays whilst snorkelling round there.

Wallaroo is just up the coast and you could get the ferry to the Eyre penisular, Innes national park was great with all the look out points and native wildlife, Ethel beach there was fantastic with the 2 ship wrecks inbedded in the sand, and there is an historic town there too... Although the flies around the historic town were massive and chased us back to the car....

We also did some crabbing and although non of us had a clue what to do when we'd caught them, we just took a photo of the crabs and threw them back...

The pub does a great pizza on Sunday's.... and thursday night is schnitzel night....

Aw cheers guys, that's given me some insight on what to do whilst there. Taking our boy (6), the dog, the husband and the boat, so sounds like there's enough to keep us all occupied!! ;)

Thanks again,
