View Poll Results: Would you ever refuse a bag search?

As a member of this forum I am entitled to express my own thoughts and opinions on a variety of matters, just as other members also do.
I took exception to what I perceived to be the tone of the posting I responded to, and commented accordingly.
We had this discussion some months ago about bags, and whether they should be opened or not, and so I was already irritated at this new thread as I felt it had run its course then. I have not changed my view.

I'm not having a go at the 16 year old, that's their job.
Whilst I haven't refused, I think I would on principle, but I simply avoid those stores that do the searching if I've been anywhere else first.
All that said, apart from the tourist issue, arguing about it is a bit like arguing over vegemite whether you like it or not, you can't persuade the very few people who disagree with bag searching to change their mind, and the people who don't really care, well it doesn't affect you does it.
I agree with Rachel. This thread has more than run its course.
I thank Ali for informing the forum of how you stand by the letter of the law regarding being asked to open your bags on exit of a store. This topic didn't work last time and I can only see it getting worse from now on in.
I think we can see from the poll that it is only a handful of people that see it as their right to refuse and they will use it. Personally I can't see for the life why. But it is for them to decide.
