We live at Highbury - about 20 minutes into the City, good choice of schools, state and private, high school and primary out here. If I can help with anything let me know. I have a 14 year old daughter and a 12 year old son, and we have been here nearly five years now.

Athelstone is just across the river from us and also has some excellent schools, such as Norwood Morialta for a high school, Charles Campbell (which has a performing arts specialist program as well) and several good primaries. There are cycle paths all along the Torrens River into the city and beyond as far as Henley Beach, and open air pool at Tea Tree Gully, about 10 minutes (max) drive away, riding stables in the hills at Templewood (about 10-15 minutes drive away), lots of sports facilities, and the best park in the whole of Adelaide (imho!) - Linear Park, for walks, cycle rides, playing, picnics, dog walking, koala spotting....

As far as school uniform goes, the state high school girls seem to wear very short skirts and little tiddy ankle socks, the private school girls wear very long skirts and thick socks, as far as I can make out!

Dunno if any of that helps, but thought I'd add in my two penn'orth anyway!
