Hiya,I have recently moved to Brighton from Truro in Cornwall,my partner Rod has a job here,really like the area but am missing the children who stayed in the U.K.I am a qualified N.N.E.B Nursery Nurse and also worked in retail for a number of years not working at the moment so finding it hard to meet people! Would like to hear of any social events that I could join in,thanks

hi welcome to Adelaide my son callum who is 8 was born in Truro hospital,we used to live in Newquay still have family and friends who live there. I am a northerner though so dont have the accent lol,my husband from portsmouth,like you i was a registered child minder.i also worked in Niles bakery in cornwall.my husband was the head chef of the central pub in newquay,If you want to meet up just pm me and we will arrange some thing.load of us going to the beach tuesday for Australia day if you would like to join us you are very welcome,one of our friends takes their barbie.

Yes would love to meet up on Tuesday at the beach,Rod has to work so I would come on my own,what time will you be there, I haven`t been to that beach before so will it be easy to find you?Rod is from Newquay and often drank in The Central,look forward to seeing you next week.

Hi we will be there from 8.30 am untill about 7pm lol we will be at the silversands beach in front of the surfclub its a drive on beach and we will be to the right,oneof my friends as a personalised number plate with becs on.look forward to meeting you.

Not in cornwall but live closeby in Plymouth, Devon.

I am also a qualified Nursery Nurse although have not worked in childcare for many years now as I currently work for the NHS.

We are due to arrive in Adelaide in March and looking to settle in Seaford.

Would love to catch up when we do so.

If you are on Facebook (very useful for keeping up with family in UK) you can join the group "Expats in Adelaide". They have some kind of meeting once a month and it will make you feel less isolated. Good luck with the job search.
