Warradale Camp 1958

Hello to all.

I have fond memories of Australia, but from a child's view.

My parents immigrated to Adelaide in 1950 as part of the £10 poms scheme. On arrival in Adelaide we were posted to warradale camp. We stayed, I believe, for 6 months before getting a house in Kilburn.

I remember, that the camp had green Nissan huts and that it was near a railway line? We were mobbed by blackbirds protecting their nest by the trees at the station approach.

I was only 2 at that time so other memories are not available, although I do remember moving into the Kilburn house.

Does any one have any photographs of the camp at that time and can the records be located of camp occupancy?

Hope you can help

Regards to all

Hi Ross, no help with photos, sorry, but i think a lot of people on here would be interested in hearing your parents story, it was so much harder then to settle in etc, they would have done really well.
