      Advice needed

My 8 year old daughter wants to use the internet and I am looking for some software to help keep her safe.

Does anyone know or can recommend some software I can install.

      Regards

      Sandra

I have just installed the new norton and it popped up with a free service called family safe, which helps to protect young people on the web, google it and see what you think.

We found the easiest way of controling what our kids saw and downloaded was to download aol 9.1 ( its free as well) she can have her own e-mail but you control the content of both what she views and what is sent to her inbox,,, you seet up an e-mail account for yourself first ,this is the master account and she cant change her settings without logging on to your account,,,by the same token when she opens aol,she can only get onto her account settings which are safe and controlled by you.
The beuty of this is as she grows older and more responsible you can allow her to view more age appropriate content,,and it does not total exclude everything like some bought programmes,,,,,,,,,,,hope this helps!

Check out this website run by the Australian Government. They have a fun interactive package for children called Hector's World which ........Hector's World helps young children learn about internet safety through a range of fun interactive activities. The experiences of Hector and his friends offer children practical guidance on managing risks and reinforce the importance of responsible online behaviour. Internet - australia.gov.au
