We are researching where to rent at the moment ..... good links to the CBD , near good schools and ...THE BEACH

thinking of Grange and surrounding to live . Anyone got any thoughts ?

Also is there an equivalent OFSTEAD system for Adelaide schools or any grading system we should be aware of ?

Should we bring the Gas cooker , washer , dryer , my daughter....ok , ok ignore the daughter bit .....

Ok , hope your all well and loving Adelaide . Hope you dont mind the questions but , well , you have all been there !

Hi Carl and Kate

welcome to PIA, great time of year to come out, we've also got a 6 year old great place to bring up kids.

Weve lived in a few areas in Adelaide Blackwood is lovely but we are beach people, Tennyson close to the beach and the city (just up from Grange) but houses can be a bit more expensive and now as the developers are moving in and knocking down a lot of the older houses they are building 2 in its place so the gardens are getting very small, but there are lots of parks and of course the beaches.

We've finally settled down south and loving it as the beach is close, good schools and cheaper houses with large blocks so for us its ideal, we commute into the city on the Southern express way which takes 40 minutes in rush hour. There's a direct train from Noarlunga and the government is extending the train lines to Seaford.

Re the gas cooker, we brought over a new Rangemaster gas cooker we had to have it bored out as the gas is rated differently here (Im not technical so dont know all the terms!!!!) there is a good range of cooker here so unless it is something special I probably wouldn't bother!! as for washers, dryers ect it up to you really if you have room then yes but you can get some good deals here and also the government is giving $200 rebate on new washers if it is energy and water rated, so there are deals to be had.

There's loads of great people on this site who have a wealth of knowledge so youll probably find all the answers to your questions!!!

Good luck with the move, its a great place!!!!
