Roll on August 10th!

Hi Everybody,

After a long process, we have just booked our flights for 10th August! It all seems very real now and we realise how much we have to do.

We have a 2 year old daughter Dilly, so we are nervous about the journey and leaving friends and family behind.

All friendly encouragement will be gratefully received!

Congratulations! August is a good time to come over, winter nearly over and spring, summer and Autumn to look forward to. We arrived nearly 4 years ago in August and hav'nt looked back since:D

We flew out here on 9th August 7 years ago. I remember well wondering around the City in t-shirts and shorts thinking how mild 16 degrees was, and wondering at the locals dressed in coats and gloves and boots! Also wondering why no-one else was on Glenelg beach!!

 

Now our blood has thinned and 16 degrees would see us dressed for winter too!

As someone else has said, August is a good time to be here, just as we have some of those lovely warm days, which are a contrast to the cold of winter. You know that it will only get warmer from here, and the days slightly longer.
