Migration Assistance scheme

Hi is anyone, or has anyone used the Migration assistance scheme where you can rent a house from the Australian Government for a a fee for up to twelve weeks. Otherwise Im stuck on what we would do when we go. Where to live and how to get rented accomodation.

Any ideas or suggestions would be a great help. As Im wondering what the best thing to do is when we go. What are other peoples plans. We have two small children age 6 and 3 to consider also.

Do you mean OAA? There is info here on how to apply - http://www.immigration.sa.gov.au/sit..._onarrival.php

We have applied for it and should find out if we are lucky enough to get it by the end of March and there are a few on here that are staying or have stayed in the On Arrival Accomodation.

You have to apply at least 6 weeks before you go and it is pretty much a lucky dip if you get it or not. Caravan parks and apartments are a popular choice for when you first arrive in Adelaide and a good back up plan if you don't get allocated OAA.

hi we have just sent off for the forms..its a good idea i think just for somewhere to crash while you look for a rental
