Well first off I'm glad to find a forum for brits in Adelaide that has some activity, you can almost hear the tumbleweed rolling through some of them.
Me and my family of three appointed an agent in January and 6 weeks ago submitted my skills assessment and are very excited and utterly terrified in equal measure!
I've got loads of questions some very practical, some downright silly so I'm open to good advice and utter ridicule. No doubt my questions at this stage are basic/general and will get more detailed/panic stricken as time goes on.
Off the top of my head so far, I need good advice on;
- how healthcare works in Australia
- the education system, when do kids start school in South Australia, do most children attend state school and the availability of pre and after school care as we will be relying on it
- mortgages and the price of housing, we're not aspiring to an enormous property but would like a reasonable amount of outside space. Is there any basics relating to mortgages e.g. % deposit, lending limits in relation to salary
- and a stupid one, the snakes what about the snakes? Do you see many of them and are any other poisonous nasties commonplace? They are so far the only negative in us planning to shift over!
Thanks so much
