Notts, just up the A52. That road is still a nightmare at rush hour! Billy Davies lost his job today, so Forest are now looking for a new Manager. My hsuband and son are Derby County season ticket holders and are glad that Forest didn't make Prem this season because the rivalry will continue again this season!

Glad you are loving Adelaide. Do you know any good websites to compare the cost of living?

Well if you love soccer and are a derby fan ..you will love adelaide united!!!!

Seen more get up and go from a snail!!!! Shocking isn't the word!!!!

Will have to tell hubby about Davis...personally think forest players are a bunch of overpaid *****..however far superior to the overpaid ***** at Derby!!!!

Lots of poms over here have their clubs logo on their car..always interesting to see peoples reactions to them..lots of finger raising and banter goes on!!!!

I used to work in Derby at the old BREL Loco Works by the station, spent many many hours in and around Derby and its burbs. I remember the banter between Derby and Forest. On my stag night i had 35 mates from derby come over to Nottingham and met my 20 mates and we all had a great time, even the cops escorting us from pub to pub!!..

Nelson Street was where i was based 84 to 88 in the Boiler Inspectors office, his names not ringing any bells though. 9 shop was i think where the locos went for refurbishment.

Ha ha ha only joking,we are from Chaddesden so you can poke fun at us too.I prefer to call it the village ha ha ha.

We are into our fourth year here in Adelaide and, although sometimes it has been tough,we both think the kids are way better off at the moment.

We treated it as a big holiday to begin with and somehow it mentally seems to take a bit of pressure off.You have made a good start by contacting this forum,i`m sure you will get an endless supply of tips and help.

Good luck with it all.

Up the Rams, Adelaide is great you'll love it, compared to England as a city goes its like Derby only by the sea!!! countryside including.

winter is COLD although warmer than UK, I was wearing 2 hoodies and a beanie just yesterday, getting prices to insulate our house( walls and ceilings) at the moment.

Guest THE HAMLYNS BIG ADVENTURE

Hi all, we started reading this as we are also relocating from Derby to Adelaide, hopefully by Sep/Oct, got our visa in Feb and have been trying to sell our house with no luck so are now looking into renting it out. We also have several connections with BREL and Carriage and Wagon, my dad (Bill Moseley) worked there for years thru 70's 80's and then when I met my now husband we realised that his father Alan Hamlyn and also grandfather Reg Bryden had worked with my dad too! Any of these names ring a bell with anyone? It's such a small world! I am also from Chaddesden, went to Lees Brook, left in '85, my husbands from Alvaston originally and then worked in Swadlincote for years, think we are gonna keep bumping into lots of familiar faces when we arrive? Sounds like there are loads of Brits out there and heaps more coming in the next few months, hope to see you all soon.
