Hi all,

We didn't formally introduce ourselves cause we got in a bit of a panic when we found we were using a "dodgy agent" started firing off comments and questions to everybody when we found this site.....Thankyou to all who answered us!!! We have asked our agent Not to represent us any longer.

Very disillusioned at this point :? and £950 poorer, but still VERY determined that we will get there some day.... 8)

We've been emailing all the agencies that you guys recommend and hopefully we'll find a reputable one that suits us..

Stu is a painter/decorator and we live in the north east of sunnyScotland wonder why we want to relocate?!

Sorry for rambling been having a small glass of australian wine tonight to drown the stress of the last couple of days.... Hope to hear you are all progressing soon

Hi and welcome to this site.

Dont be too upset about agency.

We are using Visa Bureau, costing a little more than some of the other agencies. Havn't got visa yet, but they seem to be ok at the minute.

It is a bit scary thinking that you have been taken for a mug. We often wonder with our agency too as not heard of too many people using them.

Chin up, stay positive.

You will get there in the end.

We hoping to go January/February 2008. C U There.xx

Hi All

Ashley is a painter & decorator, we are in the final stages ie waiting for the visa to be granted :):) fingers crossed we get it sooner rather than later

Our agency is Overseas Emigration based in Edinburgh

Sorry you had such bad luck initially, fingers crossed it does not re-occur

Good luck :)

Hi

could you tell me who your agent was? Are you able to name and shame?

The agent has been named in another thread but it is not good to keep naming them in case Tim gets hassle from them as the owner of the forum.

You can always pm the original poster for more info.

Back to the original thread - I am sure you will find an agent you are more comfortable with and one that will set a price so you know where you are at. The visa process is stressful enough so you need to have confidence in the ones helping you get the visa :D

Wishing you the best of luck

Lisa

Hi Stu & Fiona,

sorry to hear about ya misfortune,

we've been using Go Matilda, they've been quite good

but it seems like they haven't given us enough notice of things

that we needed to prepare.

They've also cost us time by not realising we needed to go for an

SIR 495, they were steering us to a skilled independent visa.

This was after our first agent left, and we were assigned another.

Instead of saying you need this, this and this for then,

its been - get this. Got it ? right get this too.

Got that? right get this and then we can send it all off...

I'm fairly sure it could be handled better sometimes.

Good thing is we managed to pass TRA first time - Big Thanx to Sh*"n of Go Matilda in Oz :o - he is the top boy!

Stick at it, its taken us nearly 2 years but the light at the end of the

tunnel is getting quite bright - fingers crossed lol.

cheers then P & J
