Uveitis eye condition any advice?

I am coming over this year and i have an eye condition which reoccurs called Uveitis. Just wondering who I can speak to and get advice about where i go and what type of care Adelaide has to offer on Medicare?

There are some good opticians around, not sure about Medicare I guess it depends what kind of visa you are on. Probably more important to find a specialist for whatever condition causes your uveitis.

Hi im in the Uk at the moment but will be coming to adelaide on a permanent visa so i know i have access to medicare how similar is it to the NHS? I see eye doctors at the eye hospital over here its not anything an optician could help me with. I have to have steriods for this condition. How can i go about researching who i would need to see when i am over here obviousley im a little anxious about the eye care as it is monitered....?

Ask at the UK eye hospital if they know of, or can recommend anyone who is in Adelaide who could take over your care. The medical specialists seem to move around a bit - when my father in law saw a heart specialist here whilst on holiday last year he was seen by someone who was on secondment from his own hospital in the UK - purely by coincidence! I had my eyes lasered at the Adelaide Eye and Laser Clinic in the city - google AELC, they're on Greenhill Road - who were very helpful and knowledgeable, so if you get no luck from your current specialist, you could start by giving the AELC a ring and see who they recommend out here.
