Hi all,

We retured form Qld 2010, after living there for 9 months, but now we have got itchy feet, our pr visas expire Jan 2013, we all terribly miss Oz, we have just returned from a 2nd Rekki visit to Adelaide, wow the 2nd visit was better than the 1st, hubby got offered a job so its all good, we are looking at moving to The Barossa Valley were the job offer is or we love around Flagstaff Hill, Craigbourne, Blackwood, The Coromandel Valley, its all stunningly beautiful.

Anybody got any advise to what The Barossa Valley would be like to live at, we have a little boy whos 8, any thoughts would be so greatly appreciated.

Cant wait to be back in Oz again, ping pong pom he he

I live near Adelaide CBD but work out in Nurioopta in the Barossa and travel out every day. It is a beautiful place. Tanunda and Angeston are beautiful places with Nurioopta a bit more commercial. If you decide to live in Adelaide, it IS a long haul out every day to work and the areas you described are on the south side so that makes it even further, about 1.25 to 1.5 hours each way. It is a nice place to live but it is a bit clannish. Lots of third and fourth generation German and they view outsiders with a bit of suspicion for about 3 generations! But the people are nice when you get to know them but it is a very rural lifestyle so prepare yourself well and do your research. Gawler on the outskirts of town is close and is also a decent place to live.

Hope this helps a little bit.

Regards

Where abouts in the Barossa is the job?Kapunda,Tanunda,Lyndoch,Nuriootpa,Angaston,Eudunda(abit further out)are all pretty nice. There are alot of suburbs north of Adelaide, that would also be a fairly easy commute, but it depends how far into the Barossa the job is.
