hi My name is Lisa and myself and my husband and our 2 boys (9 and 7) are thinking about the whole migration thing. Loads of people have told us that they are crying out for bricklayers is OZ(my husband is a bricklayer and I am a teaching assistant), and are paying good money, as this would be the main issue (weather there is any work) we would be greatful if anyone new anything or could give us any advice. We have completed the skilled points test and we meet the criteria, and would perhaps concider going for a year to try it as we have never visited..please help with any info

Can't help you out specifically with bricklayers work as we are still in uk at the mo and don't know any brickies

Hi Lisa,

 

We have just started applying through Go Matilda to migrate, my husband is a welder, I'm a SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant and our 2 girls aged 6 & 3. We have looked into Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide but now seem set on Adelaide. :lol:

 

Teaching Assistant jobs are about but they are called something different, can't remember what as I have looked into so much these last few months. :!: :?: :!: http://www.seek.com.au is a good site for employment. Don't know much about bricklayers but sure you'll find out some info from this site.

Teaching assistants are known as SSOs and you have to register with the DECS. To gain employment in public schools.

Hello and welcome to the site.

 

We are Julia & Steve and our two little monsters (olivia 7 soon and Molly 3). Weve never been to Adelaide or australia for that matter, but have applied anyway.

 

Desperatly hoping to get the visa so we can have fun and adventure whatever the outcome.

 

Life isn't a trial run, so make the most of it. If it doesnt work out whats the worst case scenario.

Thanks everyone that has replied..we have been doing a lot of thinking, and chatting with our boys and think we would definatly like to go at least for a year to try it.

I have been looking at the different visas that you can have and can only seem to find the skilled migration visa that we may be able to travel on.

Does anyone know of a way we can travel wothout it being on a perminant visa.

think I am going to break off now and look at the adelaide bound site you all seem to think it will help...thanks and look forward to hearing you soon :?: P.S Hi Julia and Steve...you seem to have the right idea..you sound very positive..We've sold it to our boys as an adventure to as life is to short....
