Hi Kathryn, we are here on a 457 work visa it took us 4 months to get the visa , but that was at a time when it was taking longer not sure about the time scale now . Were in the uk are you and what visa are you coming out on ? we are in the hills which are beautiful but so are places near the beach it depends what you are used too .Husband is here as a crane fitter , what type of jobs are you after . It takes him 50 mins to get to work but we are only 30 mins away from tea tree which is a big shopping centre . ask any questions you like am happy to answer them if i can . You will love it here , it feels a lot like back at home but better weather and a lot of things cheaper , you don't feel like your'e being ripped off with things . Hope this helps Jo

      Question hi mrs pixie

:v_SPIN:Hi Jo, thanks for replying, 4 months doesnt seem long at all! my hubby works for bt, but at the moment we are waiting to see what visa we can get, i am a special needs teachers assistant, but its not on any list. I have had a look on line at houses and prices, just for an idea, some look very reasonable, how do you find the cost? and do you have any names of estate agents i could take a look at? i know we are in the very early stages but we thought about it a few years ago and didnt do it so now is our last chance as i am 42 this year and my hubby will be 44, thanks for any help you can give, as the best advice is going to come from someone like you who knows what you are talking about. cheers from kathryn.

      Hi Kathryn

I to am in the early stages of things as i have just got a job at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. I've just started the nursing registration process and then im guessing the agency i'm going with will start visas and everything else.
Have a look at www.adelaidebound.com it gives a list of estate agents for the Adelaide area, along with lots of other info. Hope this is of some help to you.

Hi Kathryn , we used southern cross settlement to get our visa and found them very helpful , they also found my husband a job with a company that would sponser him . The sites for houses are www.realestate.com.au there is another good one will check the address and let you know . house prices are going up here and definately since we were looking this time last year . I think most prices are about the same , rates and water are cheaper , and most things you can get here , some things you just have to shop around for . Its definately a lovely place to live and people seem very helpful and friendly . keep in touch with how things are going Jo
