In April we are coming to Adelaide to try and decided where we would like to live. We haven't got jobs yet so it is very difficult to narrow it down, but thought if we came out we might get a feel for a place. We are renting a campervan and will be in Adelaide for just one week, so any advice on areas, schools, or anything else that might be usefull would be much appreciated. :jiggy:Many Thanks Kay, Steven and Jessica (age 8)

Hiya

It's very hard to suggest particular areas.

Some of it will depend on where you will be working/do you want a long commute/do you want to live city/beach/hills and so on.

You should try and see as many suburbs as possible, even the bad ones to give you an idea.:D

Hi

I would suggest allowing 2 days to do drive throughs.

When we got here,we visited some furniture shops up north and didn't really get the feel that the north of the city was for us until we got to Gawler (MILES out).

To the south, well, it suited us better. Aldinga was lovely for me and OH to sit on verandah in rocking chairs but not much for girls so we moved up a bit. We drove up and down streets, round and round suburbs, drove past schools etc.

Are you going to anywhere else in Oz?

We don't have jobs yet and maybe only want upto a 30min drive to work. We did think we would like to be by the sea but have read a lot of good things about the hills so not even sure on that any more. We are so indecisive, hence the reccie hope it helps. Thanks for your reply. Kay

We are looking at WA and Tasmania although we are not sure on the latter (not very much work there we heard )but thought it was worth a look while we were in Australia. How old are your girls, did they settle well, keep hoping my daughter will enjoy Australia when we vist. Have you been in SA long and are you enjoying your life there? Sorry for all the questions thanks for the advice. Kay
