Hi all,

firstly i'd like to say this looks to be a great forum and im pleased to have found it.

My wife and i are in the research stage of moving to Adelaide. We are trawling all the usual websites looking at areas to live, schools, jobs etc.

We are looking to emigrate for the climate, outdoor living and especially looking for somewhere to settle that has plenty of open space. We would love to be in a rural area that is near the sea and where we can both work. We quite like the look of the Sellicks/Aldinga Beach area.

Ellie (my wife) is a Midwife & Nurse so should be able to get a good job without too much trouble. She has already applied for one particular job she liked.

I am a Graphic Designer / artworker / print manager with around 15 years experience currently working freelance. From what i have seen on various recruitment websites there isnt a great deal of jobs of this type around?

We will be looking to get a sponsorship visa.

If anyone can offer any advise on this area, schools, or any other areas that would match our expectations in particular any advice on work i will forever in your debt.

Thanks

Pete

OMG ... Pete!

We live in Aldinga and moved here from High Wycombe, small world!

I have children at Aldinga primary, some don't like it but mine are doing fine. Our son who is 14 goes to Willunga high and is also doing fab. There are 2 private schools here as well, 1 catholic, 1 C of E. I don't know much about the catholic school but Southern Vales is the C of E, that has quite good reviews, is a R-12 school and i think its about $3000 per year.

Some people say that we are out in the sticks but i don't mind it, when my hubby drives to the city, i think it takes him about 40 - 50 minutes and it takes me about 25 minutes to drive to Colonnades which is the better shopping centre.

Aldinga is lovely, the beach is good and the sunday estate is fab, a lovely place to live!

Hi vicki,

OMG!! Your right it is a small world. You're becky's sister? Ellie was speaking to Becks just a couple of days ago about her trip over to visit you and she's seen the pictures, but we didn't realise you lived at Aldinga.

I don't think my pm is enable yet as its only my first post?

'out in the sticks' is exactly what I would want should we move.

Do you know of any hospitals, printers or designers in the area. I'm just trying to get a feel for the work.
