Hi we have been reading the posts on here and following everyone's progress with interest. We have been issued with a 489 visa for South Australia and are in the process of selling our house. We are now looking for work and places to settle. My wife is a Palliative care nurse with 9 years experience, and I have been employed on the railways in the U.K maintaining and installing track, for 13 years, previously working in stores and warehousing. We have a sixteen year old son who is a keen rugby player and any information on schools would be great. We have been looking at the Port Lincoln area and wondered if anyone on here lives there or knows the area. We would be grateful for any information. many thanks mand&jon

Hi Mand & Jon, I lived in Port Lincoln for four years joining my partner who is from there. We have been living in Adelaide for the last year and a half as there are more work opportunities for me. Port lincoln is a great place to live, if you don't mind living away from a big city. I do not have kids but the schools are St Joseph's (catholic), Navigators (Lutheran) & Port Lincoln High School (public). Not sure how popular rugby is in SA....but there are lots of sports clubs in Lincoln, it's one of the main ways to socialise! I think it's really a great place for families who want to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy an outdoors lifestyle. I know of 4 English families that are on sponsored visas, so there is a mini contingent!! Generally all the kids love it. If you have any questions I would be happy to help. Do you have any other towns to choose from?
