Looking to move to aus

Hi All,

 

Been thinking about moving to Australia for a long time but I'm not sure about how my qualifications work over there.

I have NVQ level 2 & 3 in health & social care and currently I work as a drug and alcohol recovery worker with the NHS here in England UK (I am not a qualified nurse) I am a nursing assistant.

NVQs are national qualifications and I am not sure if they are even recognised over in Aus? In fact I am not sure where to even begin researching this as I have no contacts in Australia.

Would anyone be able to steer me in the right direction? Would be a great help....Cheers.

Others will probably have more advice, but Id start by checking to see if your occupation is listed on the SOL or CSOL list. They should tell you who would assess your qualifications so you can then look up their web page to see what it says about your quals. Good luck and I'm sure someone will come along soon with better advice.

Flinders University has nurse bridging courses so check their web site and TAFE has Community and aged care courses. Best of luck
